This beginning course explores the art of acting in a playful, encouraging, collaborative atmosphere, and offers a dynamic and engaging introduction to the craft of acting. Develop a basic understanding of acting fundamentals through Stanislavski-based practice. Using exercises and scene work, this class introduces students to the elements of dramatic action, text analysis, and character development, as well as the tools for releasing inhibitions and expanding vocal and physical range. May be repeated.

For those who have some experience and want to expand their toolbox with Stanislavski-based practice, building on our foundation through fun, energizing games activities.
Using short scenes and dramatic literature, special focus will be on:

Starts January 25th--Limited to 10 Actors, Ages 16 to 18
This intensive course is designed for students with a solid acting foundation.
Focus in this class is performance. Students will work as an ensemble or in small groups on scripts for presentation (see below). Emphasis here is on how acting techniques apply to the given script. This small class will provide students an opportunity to perform for an audience.
Prerequisite: an intermediate acting class, or a firm grasp of script analysis, beat breakdown, and character objectives
Classes are Thursdays 6:30 to 8:45pm

An educator, director and actor for over 25 years, Chris cares passionately about performing arts. His enthusiasm is infectious.
